Official Smartphone Rankings -- week 93

The top three smartphones on both sides of PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings remained the same this week, with the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 each retaining their number one positions. The HTC One took hold of the top People’s Choice spot back in March and still isn’t ready to give it up.  What smartphones will launch next year to compete with your current favorites?

MT PLEASANT, SC – December 16, 2013 – It’s week 93 in PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR), which is still the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts in their respective charts.  The HTC One led the People’s Choice chart for the 39th straight week, bringing in 188 votes.  And for nine weeks now, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 finished in first place on the Experts’ Choice chart with 35 points.

The Galaxy Note 3 maintained its second place position on the People’s Choice chart for a fifth week with 119 votes, while the LG Nexus 5 held on to third with 79 votes.  LG’s flagship G2 took the fourth place spot with 51 votes and the Apple iPhone 5s moved back up to fifth with 41 votes.  On the Experts' Choice chart, the Apple iPhone 5s remained in second place with 26 points and the Nexus 5 finished in third with 23 points.  Rounding out the top five was the Samsung Galaxy S 4 in fourth with 19 points and the Moto X earning 17 points to move up to the fifth place position. This movement resulted in the HTC One falling out of the top five in the Experts’ Choice Rankings.

“The consistency in the voting by the fans for the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from the experts is a testament to the quality of these two powerhouse smartphones,” said Rebecca Atwood, Senior Business Manager at PhoneDog Media.
