Well, that didn't take long. Earlier today I told you that the HTC One and LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition models had started receiving their Android 4.4.2 updates, and now it looks like the GPe-flavored Samsung Galaxy S 4's rollout is underway as well. The update bumps the Galaxy S 4 Google Play edition up to Android 4.4.2 (KOT49H) and baseband version I9505GUEUCML4. The over the air update weighs in at 57.4MB, though GPe Galaxy S 4 owners that don't feel like waiting for that OTA to hit can sideload the update by snagging it directly from Google's servers.
We've seen the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4 Google Play editions receive updates in tandem in the past, and it's good to see that that's continuing with this latest Android 4.4.2 update. As is usually the case with these over the air updates, though, it's worth noting that it'll take some time for every GPe Galaxy S 4 to be moved up to Android 4.4.2. The good news is that at least we know that the update has started to make its way out into the wild. If you've selected the Galaxy S 4 Google Play edition to be your mobile companion, be sure to keep an eye on its notification area in the coming days for a tasty Jelly Bean treat.
