So far the only people that've been breaking off a piece of Google's KitKat bar are owners of the new Nexus 5. That's changing today, though, as Google has begun rolling out Android 4.4 updates to both the 2012 and 2013 editions of the Nexus 7 as well as the Nexus 10. The company says that updates for the Nexus 4 and cellular-enabled Nexus 7 models are also on the way, but the only timeframe that's been given for their arrival is the always-vague "soon."
One of the main draws of Google's Nexus-branded hardware is that it's often the first group of devices to receive the newest Android updates. That trend is continuing with Android 4.4, and while the update to KitKat will undoubtedly take some time to reach all Nexus 4, 7 and 10 devices, they'll still be some of the first to take a bite of Google's latest dessert.
If you've got a Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 and feel like hammering on a button that says "Check now" might help make your update show up quicker, you can find that very button by heading into Settings > About phone > System updates. Just don't forget to stop by the comments section below once your own piece of KitKat finally arrives!
