After first hitting the scene way back in June, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 zoom is finally making its way stateside. AT&T announced this morning that it plans to launch the Galaxy S 4 zoom on Nov. 8, aka this Friday, complete with a price tag of $199.99 with a two-year commitment. Customers that'd prefer to buy using AT&T Next can snag Samsung's cameraphone for $25 per month.
As its name implies, the Galaxy S 4 zoom is a device that features an optical zoom lens on its backside. In addition to that 10x optical zoom, the handset features a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, dedicated shutter button, Xenon flash and optical image stabilization. Around on the front of the phone lives a 4.3-inch 960x540 Super AMOLED display and 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter. There's a 1.5GHz dual-core processor at the heart of the Galaxy S 4 zoom as well as 1.5GB RAM, microSD card slot and 2330mAh battery.
AT&T has played host to a number of Samsung's Galaxy S variants as of late, so it's not exactly a surprise to learn that the big blue carrier will be giving the Android 4.2-powered Galaxy S 4 zoom a home in the U.S. as well. Still, it's nice to see that anyone in the U.S. that's interested in this Samsung cameraphone will finally have an easy way to procure one, even if we're now several months out from its original debut. If you're interested in learning more about the Galaxy S 4 zoom before pulling the trigger shutter button, you can check out Aaron's two-part video review here and here.
It's also worth noting that the Galaxy S 4 zoom is eligible for both promotions announced by AT&T last week. Customers that pick up the device with a two-year contract or with AT&T Next will have the option of snagging a free 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 with a two-year commitment. AT&T will also be handing Promotion Cards worth at least $100 to any customer that trades in a smartphone and then purchases a new handset using the AT&T Next upgrade program.
