Today may finally be the day that the Nexus 5 is introduced with Android 4.4 KitKat in tow, but it turns out that this fine Thursday is big for another member of the Nexus family as well. Sprint has announced that its version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will begin receiving its update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean today, Oct. 31. The update will bump the Sprint Galaxy Nexus up to software version GJ04 and will be pushed over the air to users during a 10-21 day period.
The only item on Sprint's changelog for the GJ04 update is an update to Android 4.3, so for now it's unclear what other goodies this bundle of software might contain. An update to Android 4.3 is pretty exciting on its own, though, and it's good to see Sprint bumping its Galaxy Nexus up to the new version of Jelly Bean and giving its owners something to get excited about today. If you've got a Sprint Galaxy Nexus that you call your daily driver, be sure to keep an eye out for the fresh Jelly Beans that ought to be making their way to you soon.
