Nokia has already made several hardware announcements today, including news regarding the 6-inch Lumia 1520 phablet and the 10.1-inch Lumia 2520 tablet. The Nokia World 2013 news doesn't stop there, though as Elop and Co. have some big software news to share as well.
Nokia announced today that an official Instagram app will be coming to Windows Phone in the coming weeks. The app has been available on Android and iOS for some time now, but Windows Phone users with a love for filtered photos have had to use third-party apps to get their fix. There's no word yet on the exact date that Instagram will land on Windows Phone, but the good news is that at least the Live Tile crowd can now rest easy knowing that an official app is nearly here.
"Our ultimate goal is to bring Instagram to everyone who wants to use it. We're looking forward to watching the Windows Phone community use Instagram to capture and share beautiful moments in the coming weeks," said Kevin Systrom, CEO and co-founder of Instagram.
Windows Phone users will be glad to hear that the good app news doesn't end with Instagram. Nokia also revealed today that ESPN F1, EA Sports FIFA 14, Temple Run 2, Vine, Vyclone Pro, Xbox Video and others will be landing in the Windows Phone Store in the coming weeks. Flipboard is also slated to hit Windows Phone in the coming months. Several of those apps are pretty big names, and it's good to see that the Windows Phone Store will soon be home to more major apps, even if it took some extra time for them to make the leap to the land of Live Tiles. Which of these upcoming Windows Phone apps are you most excited for?
