T-Mobile CEO hints that cellular iPads for his carrier will debut at Apple's Oct. 22 event

Earlier this year, T-Mobile CEO John Legere teased that his carrier was planning to expand its lineup of Apple products after launching the iPhone earlier in the year. The exec didn't say exactly which devices were coming, but recently he sent out a tweet that could be a hint of what's to come.

In a tweet sent out from his official @johnlegere account, the T-Mobile CEO said "What has two thumbs and is excited for October 22? #thisguy," followed by a link to a USA Today article covering Apple's Oct. 22 event. The Cupertino firm is expected to unveil new iPad and iPad mini models at the gathering. Since T-Mobile is the lone carrier of the U.S. big four that still doesn't offer cellular-enabled iPads, it's possible that Legere is hinting that the Oct. 22 shindig will bring with it iPad models with built-in T-Mobile cellular connectivity.

We'll have to wait until Oct. 22 rolls around before know for sure what new products Tim Cook and Co. will unveil, but Legere's tweet definitely makes T-Mobile-connected iPads a strong possibility. Not only has the T-Mobile CEO already confirmed that more Apple products are headed to his carrier's shelves, but now that Magenta officially sells the iPhone, there aren't really any other Apple devices that a U.S. carrier would want to stock. Would you be interested in an iPad or iPad mini with built-in support for T-Mobile's 4G LTE network?
