Following its debut in Berlin just a few weeks ago, the Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition will make its way onto U.S. soil on Oct. 10. Samsung says that its new S Pen-equipped tablet will be available in Jet Black and Classic White color options and that pricing will be set at $549.99 for the 16GB model, while the more capacious 32GB version will carry $599.99 price tag.
The list of retailers that'll be stocking the new Note 10.1 includes Samsung Experience Shops at Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile, BestBuy.com, Amazon, PC Richards, Fry's, Tiger Direct, Walmart and Samsung itself. Consumers that'd like to guarantee themselves a unit at launch will be able to place a pre-order at select retailers starting at midnight on Sept. 27.
One of the the Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition's tentpole features is its Super Clear LCD display, which measures 10.1-inches in size and features a resolution of 2560x1600. That's a lot of pixels. The rest of the slate's spec sheet is pretty high-end as well, though, with a quad-core Exynos 5420 processor, 3GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Samsung also notes that Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition owners will receive 50GB of Dropbox storage for two years, a one-year subscription to Bloomberg Businessweek and a 12-week subscription to the New York Times.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition is quite an upgrade over the previous model, which featured a 1280x800 screen, 1GB RAM and a 3-megapixel rear camera. It's good to see that Samsung is planning to bring its refreshed Note 10.1 to the U.S. so promptly, and with the Galaxy Note 3 slated to begin arriving at carriers early in October, it looks like next month will be a good one for fans of Samsung's Note family.
