How many of you are playing the waiting game right now? Despite the fact we've already seen several high-end, mainstream devices get announced, and some even released, how many of you are just biding your time? Waiting in the wings, watching what's left to be announced, released, or leaked. It's not a bad strategy. Despite the fact we've already seen several main contenders find their way to the global ring, we're still missing at least a couple of heavyweights, which could very well change the scope of the fight, especially for specific manufacturers.

This is one reason why the "convenient leak" or "controlled rumor" idea makes sense. And why companies must make it work, because depending on the time of the year, the consumer's waiting game could make or break a potential new owner of a shiny new device.

For example, the Lumia 1520. By now, we've seen that more times than someone could probably count on one hand, and we've heard plenty of rumors. Microsoft is probably hoping the larger display will bring in a new market of buyers, but they obviously have some heavy competition in the recently announced Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and the oft-rumored HTC One max. That's why all these leaks are probably a good thing for Microsoft. Keeps attention on the upcoming device, long before it even gets announced.

As it happens, this holiday season is just as crowded as ever for new devices. There are certainly a lot of choices, both available now, available soon, and available a little bit further down the road.

And I'm curious which one you're going to buy.

So, let's stack 'em up, and see how each one compares to the next. And, at the end, I want you to tell me which device you're planning on buying this holiday season, whether it's for yourself or for someone else.

Motorola's Moto X features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED panel, with a 720x1280 resolution. It comes in two variants: a 16GB model, and a 32GB version. Both load outs offer 2GB of RAM, with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. The back of the phone has a 10MP camera, and a 2MP front-facing shooter on the other side. It's running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, and has a battery measured in at 2200mAh.

LG's G2 boasts a 5.2-inch True HD-IPS panel, with a 1080x1920 resolution. It comes in two variants: a 16GB version, with a 32GB model also available. Both models feature 2GB of RAM, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor under the hood, clocked at 2.26GHz. There's a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and a 2.1MP camera on the front. It is running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and has a battery measured at 3000mAh.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED panel, with a resolution of 1080x1920. The two variants here are a 32GB and a 64GB model, with 3GB of RAM in both variants. Here in the States, the Galaxy Note 3 will boast a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, clocked at 2.3GHz. You'll find a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and a 2MP shooter on the front. It's running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and has a 3200mAh battery.

Apple's iPhone 5c has a 4-inch Retina Display, with a resolution of 640x1136. You'll be able to find it with 16GB or 32GB of built-in storage, with 1GB of RAM. The processor under the hood is Apple's A6, and it's a dual-core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz. The camera on the back is 8 megapixels, while the shooter on the front is 1.2MP. It'll be running iOS 7 at launch, and has a 1510mAh battery under the hood.

The iPhone 5s has the same 4-inch Retina Display at 640x1136 resolution. You'll be able to choose from a 16GB, 32GB or 64GB model, all of which come with a reported 2GB of RAM. The A7 processor is clocked at 1.7GHz and it's a dual-core chipset. The rear-facing camera is 8 megapixels, while the front-facing shooter is of the 1.2MP variety. It will be running iOS 7 at launch, and the battery is measured at 1570mAh.

Microsoft's Lumia 1520 is still unofficial, but it's said to pack a 6-inch 1080p HD panel, with 32GB of storage under the hood and somewhere around 2GB of RAM. It's also said to feature a microSD card slot (rare for high-end Windows Phone 8-based devices), as well as a 20-megapixel camera on the back. The processor under the hood is said to be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 quad-core option, while the clocked speed is unknown. It's said to be launching around November 5.

HTC's One max, also unofficial, is said to have a 5.9-inch 1080p HD display, and come in a 32GB option, with a microSD card slot as well. The processor under the hood is said to be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 quad-core option, clocked around 1.7GHz. The battery has been rumored to be around the 3300mAh mark. Rumors peg the release of the One max around the middle of October.

And there may be more coming down the pipe, too. Those are just he high-end devices that have already been unveiled, as well as some of the more interesting devices that haven't quite been given the green light of announcements. With this busy of a release at the end of the year, and with the holiday shopping season right around the corner, I can't help but be very curious:
