After posing for some "in the wild" photos earlier this month, HTC's upcoming One Max (codenamed T6) has now leaked out in a new form. Prolific leaker @evleaks took to Google+ today to share an official-looking (but also "non-final") render of the device, and just as the previous images have shown, the One Max/T6 looks an awful lot like its One and One mini siblings.
According to the rumor mill, the One Max will live up to its name by sporting a 5.9-inch 1080p display, up from the 4.3-inch screen of the One mini and the 4.7-incher on the original One. The One Max is also expected to include a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM and the same UltraPixel camera and BoomSound speakers found on HTC's other Ones.
Smartphones with displays that are 5 inches or larger in size have been growing in popularity lately. LG contributed to the phone/tablet hybrid category with its 5.5-inch Optimus G Pro, Samsung has its 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II and Sony recently announced the monstrous 6.4-inch Xperia Z Ultra, and now it looks like HTC is ready to enter the fray with an aluminum-clad giganto-phone of its own.
HTC recently posted a teaser video to say that it's got "big things ahead," likely hinting that the One Max's official debut is near. It's thought that the Taiwanese manufacturer may be planning to take the wraps off of its new phone at IFA early next month, but so far we've yet to receive any event invitations or anything like that. Considering that most of the mobile press will be converging on Berlin for IFA in early September, though, that seems as good a time as any for HTC to introduce us to the newest member of the One family.
