Looks like the Pantech Discover isn't the only AT&T Android phone getting a major update today. A new AT&T support document has revealed that the big blue carrier will begin rolling out an update to its version of the Samsung Galaxy S III today that includes Android 4.1.2 and Samsung's Premium Suite. That means that AT&T Galaxy S III owners will finally be receiving the Multi-Window feature that other Galaxy device owners have received in recent months, as well as a handful of other goodies. AT&T's changelog for the update is as follows:
Software update includes
AT&T says that the update is available for manual installation today and that it'll begin notifying users of the update on Aug. 7. Any AT&T GSIII folk that want that piping hot software now can check for it manually by going into Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates. Once installed, the GSIII will be on software version JZO54K.I747UCDMG2.
The changelog for this update may look small, but the enhancements that it packs in should make the AT&T Galaxy S III a much better device. Not only does the Multi-Window feature enable to apps to be used on-screen at once, but there are also improvements for frequently-used features like the calendar and SD card. If you're an AT&T customer that's rocking a Galaxy S III, you may want to stop reading now and go check for the update. In fact, I'll stop telling you about the update right now so that you can go install it yourself.
