Just can't wait until the new Nexus 7 hits Google Play on July 30 to get your mitts on that high-res 7-inch screen of Jelly Bean goodness? You're in luck, my friend, because it looks like some retailers just couldn't wait that long to sell you one.
As noted by The Verge, many Best Buy stores are already offering the new Nexus 7 in both 16GB and 32GB varieties. The retailer offers a "Store Pickup" option on its website that allows users to see if there are any physical stores nearby with stock of a product. The tool revealed that there are 7 Best Buy stores near me that have the new Nexus 7 available for purchase now.
Meanwhile, Twitter user Tony Hoffman reports that both he and a friend were able to buy new Nexus 7s of their own from two separate Walmart locations. Wally World doesn't appear to have the refreshed N7 on its website yet, so it looks like you'll have to either call your local store or just mosey on down there to see if they've got stock available.
Rounding out the list of early Nexus 7 sellers is Amazon. The online retailer currently has both the 16GB and 32GB Nexus 7s in stock, and so long as you're willing to pony up some extra dough for shipping, it looks like Amazon would be more than happy to deliver a unit to you as soon as July 27.
The new Nexus 7 features quite a few upgrades over its predecessor. Most notable is its display, which is still 7 inches in size but has had its resolution bumped up to 1920x1200, which is quite an improvement over the 1280x800 display found on the first Nexus 7. The new model also includes a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear and 1.2-megapixel front cameras and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Google is also planning to offer a Nexus 7 with built-in 4G LTE connectivity for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, but there's no word on when that model is slated to launch outside of a vague "coming weeks" timeframe. If you don't feel like waiting that long to experience Android 4.3 on the Nexus 7's pixel-packed display, then hit up one of the retailers below and get to clicking that "Add to Cart" button.
