AT&T is set to launch the Nokia Lumia 1020 and its 41-megapixel camera on July 26, but that's not the only Windows Phone that'll be hitting the big blue carrier's shelves on that date. AT&T just announced that it will launch the Nokia Lumia 520 on its prepaid GoPhone brand on July 26 as well, complete with a contract-free price tag of just $99.99.
The AT&T version of the Lumia 520 is similar to the international model that debuted at MWC in February. That means that it's packing a 4-inch 800x480 LCD screen, 5-megapixel rear camera, 8GB internal storage (5GB user-accessible), microSD slot, 512MB RAM, and a 1,430mAh battery. AT&T says that the Lumia 520 will be compatible its 4G network, which likely means it'll sport HSPA+ connectivity.
AT&T has offered a number of different Windows Phone-powered devices in the past, but the Lumia 520 is certainly the most affordable of the bunch. The device may not be a spec powerhouse, but it is a new smartphone with AT&T 4G connectivity and a modern operating system, and its $99.99 no-commitment pricing means that it'll be pretty easy on the wallet. In addition to its Lumia 520 news, AT&T's got a postpaid announcement to make. The operator today revealed that it will launch new 300MB and 2GB Mobile Share data buckets on July 26. The 300MB tier will be available for $20 per month, though customers will still need to pay a monthly access fee for each device, meaning that the monthly rates for messaging devices and smartphones would be $50 and $70, respectively. AT&T doesn't say how much its 2GB bucket will cost, but it currently offers 1GB and 4GB tiers for $40 and $70 per month, so the 2GB option will likely fall in-between there.
