Well, that didn't take long. Just a little over 24 hours after we first got wind of Sprint's new "Unlimited, My Way" and "My All-In" rate plans, the carrier has gone ahead and made them officially official. Sprint announced the new plans this afternoon, confirming that they'll both be available starting tomorrow, July 12.
The Unlimited, My Way plan starts out with unlimited talk and text. Customers select how many lines they'd like to add to the plan, then decide how much data each line needs. Data add-ons are available at a rate of $30 per month for unlimited smartphone data, $20 per month for 1GB of smartphone data, $10 per month for unlimited basic phone data, or $0 per month for no basic phone data. Subscribers can also add 1GB of mobile hotspot usage for an additional $10 per month.
Meanwhile, Sprint's My All-In plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data while on the Sprint network, as well as 5GB of mobile hotspot usage. This rate plan is priced at $110 per month.
Both of Sprint's new offerings come with the Sprint Unlimited Guarantee, which means that customers on either an Unlimited, My Way or My All-In plan will have unlimited talk and text for the life of their line of service. The Sprint Unlimited Guarantee also applies to the unlimited data add-on for both of the new plans. The Sprint Unlimited Guarantee will stay in effect as long as customers remain on their plan, meet its terms and conditions and pay their bill on time.
As I mentioned yesterday, Sprint has long been using unlimited data as a way to differentiate itself as its bigger competitors have switched to tiered and shared data. These new plans make it appear as though Sprint will be sticking with that strategy for the foreseeable future. The good news is that customers that want to lock that unlimited data in can do so with Sprint's Unlimited Guarantee, which is something that I'm guessing will be pretty attractive to the data-hungry crowd.
