AT&T and Samsung have got a nice Monday afternoon surprise for their Galaxy S II (SGH-i777) owners, as it appears that that model's update to Jelly Bean is finally ready for mass consumption. Samsung has put up an official support page for the update, revealing that the software bump will bring the AT&T Galaxy S II up to Android 4.1.2, baseband version I777UCMD8.
After installing the UCMD8 update, AT&T Galaxy S II should find the usual Jelly Bean goodies like Google Now and smoother device operation thanks to Project Butter. Samsung says that it's included improved text input, clearer menu formatting and new preloaded apps as well. Here's Samsung's full list of changes:

That's a nice list of tweaks, and I'm sure that anyone still rocking an AT&T Galaxy S II will be pleased to see that they're getting updated to Android 4.1.2 over a year and a half after their device's launch. Speaking of launch, Samsung says that this update will only be available through its Kies computer software, which can be found right here. We've yet to hear anything about this update from AT&T, but now that Samsung has spilled some information on the update, we ought to hear more from the big blue carrier soon.
