Apple's big Worldwide Developers Conference is kicking off Monday morning, and the company is getting things ready for the show by placing some banners around the Moscone Center. One of those banners has been photographed by MacStories, showing a very simple and slim "7" against a background that's white with some gray spots. This particular banner is likely teasing the next major version of Apple's mobile software, iOS 7, which the company has confirmed will be shown at the conference.
It's no surprise to see Apple preparing Moscone West for WWDC by hanging a "7" banner, as we saw the company do the same with an iOS 6 banner last year. What's notable is the look of the banner, which features a minimalist look that could be in reference to the design of iOS 7 itself. Several rumors have claimed that iOS 7 will sport a design that's flatter than previous iterations of the OS. It's also said that Apple designer Jony Ive is planning to axe the realistic textures currently found in iOS, like the casino look of the Game Center app, in favor of a black and white design with theme colors for each built-in app.
The 2013 edition of the Worldwide Developers Conference will officially kick off on Monday, June 10, with a keynote that's slated to begin at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET).
