Leaks containing renders of unannounced smartphones are always a welcome sight, but I'm guessing that many mobile fanatics would rather have photos of that device in the wild if they were given the choice. There's some good news this morning for all of the people that fall into that category, as some shots that purportedly show the "HTC One mini" (aka HTC M4) have made their way online.
Posted by Estonian site Forte, the images show a device that looks fairly similar to the HTC One that many of us now have in our pocket, just in a smaller package. The HTC One mini is said to feature a 4.3-inch 720p display, a step down from the One's 4.7-inch 1080p panel, along with a dual-core processor. There's also reportedly 16GB of built-in storage, 2GB RAM, a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera, Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5 included with this miniaturized One.
Most of the specs named in today's report line up with a leak that surfaced in May. With its combination of a 4.3-inch 720p display, Android 4.2.2 and BoomSound speakers, this One mini features a (rumored) spec list that isn't quite as high-end as the One, but is still pretty respectable. If the rumors hold true, the One mini could be a nice option for folks interested in a shrunken down version of HTC's full-size flagship.
Today's leak claims that the HTC One mini could arrive in August with a price tag of around €400, but we've heard before that a launch could happen as soon as the end of the second quarter, which wraps up this month. Here's to hoping that the latter of those release windows is the accurate one.
