Google announced some big updates for its Gmail and Chrome apps near the end of May, and now it looks like some of them are finally beginning to roll out to users. The new, tab-ified Gmail for Android app is finally starting to show up for users in the Google Play Store, and while the app's "What's New" doesn't seem to have been updated yet, the "Overview" tab says that the app was updated today, June 3.
In addition to the new sliding panel and email categories, Android Police notes that the latest version of Gmail for Android (version 4.5-694836) also features pull-to-refresh functionality. The new Gmail for Android update should be rolling out to users through Google Play right now, but these things can take some time to hit everyone, so don't fret too much if you haven't gotten it yet. If it's not showing up and you can't wait one second longer for your emails to be categorized, you can download the official APK by visiting Android Police using the link below.
Jumping on over to the iOS side of the things, the updated version of Google Chrome that was announced a couple of weeks ago is now available for download from the App Store. The update brings with it improved voice search, various stability and security improvements, faster page reloading and some bug fixes. If you're rocking an iOS device and have Chrome installed, you should be able to mosey on into the App Store and snag the newest version of the browser (version 27.0.1453.10) from the Updates tab.
