After first popping up on our radar back in February, Samsung's Galaxy Exhibit is now available for purchase from T-Mobile. The new Android-powered smartphone is available with a down payment of $19.99 and 24 monthly payments of $9 each. T-Mobile customers that'd prefer to pay for the Galaxy Exhibit in full and avoid any monthly installment payments can do so by ponying up $235.99.
The Galaxy Exhibit's spec sheet lines up with what we heard about the device several months ago. That means that buyers will be getting a handset with a 3.8-inch 800x480 touchscreen, 1GHz dual-core STE U8420 processor, 5-megapixel rear and 1-megapixel front cameras, 1GB RAM, 4GB storage and a microSD card slot for additional memory. The Galaxy Exhibit is powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and runs on T-Mobile's 4G HSPA+ network.
Samsung's Galaxy Exhibit is the third device in the Galaxy Exhibit family on T-Mobile. The device, which is reminiscent of the Galaxy S III mini, looks like it could be a decent option for T-Mobile customers that are in the market for an entry-level smartphone that's easy on the wallet. The Galaxy Exhibit's 3.8-inch display size could also make it worthwhile for anyone that doesn't want to pack one of the growing number of large-screened Android smartphones into their pocket.
In addition to launching the Galaxy Exhibit, T-Mobile has confirmed that it plans to release the BlackBerry Q10 on June 5. The Q10 was originally made available to T-Mobile business customers in mid-May, but now regular T-Mo folk are just a week away from being able to get their mitts on the QWERTY-fied BlackBerry 10 smartphone as well. Pricing for the BlackBerry Q10 will be set at a $99.99 down and 24 monthly payments of $20 each.
