iPhone rumored to be launching on Boost Mobile in Q3 2013

Apple's iPhone has made its way onto a few prepaid carriers in the past year, including Cricket and Virgin Mobile, and tonight a new rumor claims that that list will grow once again later this year. According to @evleaks, the iPhone will arrive on Boost Mobile in the third quarter of 2013. No other details relating to Boost's iPhone launch plans have been shared.

The iPhone is already available on Sprint, which owns Boost Mobile, as well as Boost's prepaid sibling Virgin Mobile. Considering both that and the fact that Boost regularly launches handsets that've already been released by Sprint, it's kind of strange that Boost doesn't already sell the iPhone. The two smartphone platforms that Boost does sell are Android and BlackBerry 7.

This isn't the first time that we've heard rumblings about a Boost Mobile iPhone, as rumors surfaced last year suggesting that the device could arrive in late 2012. Just as with that rumor and all others related to the iPhone, tonight's report should be taken with a grain or two of your favorite salt, especially since we've yet to see any hard evidence to back up this purported Q3 2013 Boost iPhone launch. With the fairly good track record that @evleaks has built up when it comes to leaked images and information, though, this latest rumor is one that's at least worth taking note of. Would you buy an iPhone on Boost Mobile if such a device were available?
