As one of the companies that helped to make large, phone/tablet hybrid devices popular with the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II, Samsung has made it clear that it's not afraid to introduce a supersized phone or two. Recent reports have suggested that Samsung may be planning to push its screen sizes (and stretch our pockets) even further with a pair of upcoming devices referred to as the "Galaxy Mega 5.8" and "Galaxy Mega 6.3," and today the purported spec lists for both of those products have made their way online courtesy of SamMobile. Here's what we're told to expect from these upcoming giganto-phones:
Separately, a report from Korean publication ETNews backs up the rumors of an upcoming Samsung-made smartphone with a 6.3-inch display. Rumored to go by the codename "Project Möbius," the 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega is expected to be introduced sometime in June.
The original 5.3-inch Galaxy Note was deemed too big by many when it was first introduced in 2011, and while many still feel that the Galaxy Note smartphones are too big for daily use, there are plenty of other folks that enjoy the large size. Considering the strong sales that the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II have enjoyed, as well as the fact that we're starting to see phone/tablet hybrid devices from other manufacturers, it appears that this category of products is here to stay. It looks like Samsung is prepping some of the biggest entries we've seen in that family with these Galaxy Mega phones, and it'll be interesting to see how phone/tablet hybrid fans react to them when they're introduced.
