First Samsung Galaxy S IV teaser video goes live

Samsung is no stranger to teasing its new products to help build hype, and today (March 4, of course) the company officially kicked off its campaign for the Galaxy S IV by introducing us to Jeremy Maxwell. Jeremy is Samsung's "secret messenger" for Unpacked 2013 who, in the teaser video, is entrusted with a package that contains the new flagship smartphone. Unfortunately for anyone that may have been hoping for Samsung to surprise us all and just announce the Galaxy S IV in a YouTube clip, there are no shots of the device contained in the teaser, or any real information about it for that matter. The beginning of the clip does set a lofty goal for the S IV, though, with one character saying that the phone will be "the most amazing product to hit the market since TVs went color."

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is likely to be one of the hotly-anticipated smartphone releases of the year, and the good news for anyone that's interested in the device is that it's coming even earlier than its predecessor. Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy S III at an event in London in early May 2012, but this year the Korean device maker has opted to announce on March 14. While the Galaxy S III itself actually began launching internationally in late May 2012, those of us in the U.S. had to wait until the end of June 2012 to get our mitts on the phone, so hopefully that's another aspect of the Galaxy S IV debut that Samsung will change this year. Samsung's first teaser for the Galaxy S IV is available below.
