Remember those LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 handsets that leaked earlier today? Less than 24 hours later, they've made the jump from Rumorville to Official Town. LG tonight officially announced its new Optimus F Series, which consists of the 4G LTE-capable Optimus F5 and Optimus L7. The folks at LG say that their goal with the Optimus F lineup is to bring together a "premium user experience" with LTE connectivity and to offer that combo to a large audience. The full spec rundowns of the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 are as follows:
Each of LG's Optimus lineups appear to focus on a certain feature or market segment, with the Optimus L Series consisting of entry-level and mid-range products and the Optimus G Series consisting of high-end handsets. The focus of the Optimus F Series seems to be 4G LTE support and bringing that connectivity to the masses. When it comes to which masses will actually get the opportunity to purchase an Optimus F Series device, LG says that the Optimus F5 will begin its worldwide rollout in Europe in Q2 2013, with the Optimus F7 set to follow in "selected markets." The good news is that we won't have to wait long to see the new Optimus F Series family members in action, as LG says that they'll both make an appearance at Mobile World Congress later this month.
