Remember the AT&T Unite? We first told you about this touchscreen-packing 4G LTE mobile hotspot device in early January, but at that time, AT&T had chosen to stay quiet on the Unite's launch and pricing information. Things are different today, though, as AT&T just announced that the Unite will be available starting on Feb. 8 for $0.99 with a two-year contract. The Unite is compatible with AT&T's existing individual and family data plans, and it can also be added to an AT&T Mobile Share plan for an additional $20 per month.
AT&T's Unite mobile hotspot features a 2.4-inch touchscreen that can display data usage stats and Wi-Fi network information. It can also be used to review the devices that are connected to it, change network settings and block unwanted hardware from connecting to its signal. AT&T says that the Unite packs a battery life of around 10 hours.
The Unite is actually AT&T's second touchscreen-equipped hotspot, but this new model's $1 price tag is quite a bit less than the $50 that AT&T is asking for its MiFi Liberate, meaning that the Unite could be an option for folks looking to share an LTE connection with multiple devices on the cheap.
