Intel said late last year that it had some dual-core smartphone processors coming soon, and it looks like we'll finally get a peek at some products with those chips next month. The company recently announced that it will show off a batch of Android-powered products at Mobile World Congress that'll include dual-core devices as well as hardware running the Atom Z2420, which is Intel's chip that's intended for emerging markets. No specific details on what products Intel is planning to show were mentioned.
We've already seen Intel's mobile chips make their way into several different handsets, including the ZTE Grand X IN and the Motorola RAZR i. The processors in those two phones were of the single-core variety, though, so it'll be interesting to see how smartphones packing Intel's new dual-core chips perform when they're put to the test. It's also worth noting that we've yet to see any smartphones make their way to the U.S. with Intel inside, but hopefully with these dual-core chips and the promise of LTE support, that'll change soon. How many of you would be interested in trying out an Intel-powered smartphone?
