Get out your calendars, friends, because HTC just sent out invitations for an upcoming event. As you can see in the invitation above that was received by BGR, the shindig is scheduled to take place in New York City on Tuesday, Feb. 19, with 10 a.m start time. Unsurprisingly, there's no mention of what exactly HTC has planned for the event, but you can bet that we'll be there live to cover whatever it is that HTC pulls out of its hat.
While we'll have to wait for Feb. 19 to roll around before we know precisely what Peter Chou and everyone else at HTC is planning to show at this event, one of the first possible guest of honor candidates that springs to mind is the M7. The M7 has starred in quite a few different leaks lately, the most recent being a set of photos and a video showing off the unit's front and rear casing. It's expected that the M7 will be HTC's new flagship Android phone, with a spec sheet that's rumored to include a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, 13-megapixel camera and Android Jelly Bean.
It's also worth noting that HTC's event is taking place less than a week before the start of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Whatever HTC has planned for its event, the company apparently thought that it was worthy of its own gathering, which could be another indicator that this will be a flagship-level device. Looks like the end of February is going to be jam-packed full of mobile goodness!
