Details on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 have been steadily trickling out for the past week or two, and today that continues with a pair of new photos that purportedly show the unannounced tablet resting next to its smaller Note II sibling. As with the shots that surfaced on Thursday, these new images from French site FrAndroid show a physical home button that's got a menu button to its left and back key to its right. Up top is an earpiece, below it is a Samsung logo and to the right is a front-facing camera. One difference between those old shots and the new ones is that the latest images show the Note 8.0's white S Pen unsheathed and ready for action.
The still-unofficial Galaxy Note 8.0 slots into Samsung's Note lineup right in the middle of the Note II and Note 10.1 size-wise with its rumored 8-inch 1280x800 display. We've also been told to expect a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras and Android 4.2 running beneath Samsung's TouchWiz overlay.
The device looks like it could serve as a nice option for folks that want a Note tablet but prefer the smaller, 7 to 8-inch tablet size rather than the full-on 10-inch style of the Note 10.1. Since the Note 8.0 is still very much a rumored product at this point, it's not clear when it'll actually be made available for purchase or what its price tag will look like, but we're expecting Samsung to make this thing official at Mobile World Congress next month.
