The Windows Phone 8 Portico updates are continuing today, and this time it's handsets on both AT&T and T-Mobile are getting some fresh software treats. According to a report from WPCentral, AT&T's HTC Windows Phone 8X is also being given its own taste of Portico today. This update comes almost a month after the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 on AT&T got their own updates. That's kind of a bummer for 8X owners on AT&T, but it's rumored that there were some bugs that needed to be ironed out in the 8X's update.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile has announced on its Nokia Lumia 810 support forum that an update for the 810 is being released today. WPCentral says that this, too, is a Portico update. T-Mobile explains that this new update contains bug fixes for issues related to Bluetooth, reboots and users getting sent to tethering up-sell pages. That is the same list of bugs that were addressed with HTC Windows Phone 8X's update that was sent out last month.
Along with the bug fixes named by the carriers, a Portico update brings with it a handful of new Windows Phone features. For example, users will be able to set the Wi-Fi to remain on after the device's screen times out. There are also some SMS improvements in Portico, like the ability to save SMS drafts, the option to reject a call and respond with a text message and a "Select All" option for mass deletion of messages. Those features might not all sound like much, but they're all little things that ought to help make using a Windows Phone 8 smartphone an easier, more enjoyable experience.
