Looks like Sprint wasn't kidding about that whole "Windows Phone 8 coming soon" thing. Sprint just announced that it plans to offer two Windows Phone 8 smartphones "by summer," one of which will be made by Samsung and the other by HTC. Details on the phones themselves are still light, but Sprint did say that they'll both pack front and rear cameras, dual-core processors and 4G LTE connectivity. Hesse and Co. have promised to share more information as we get closer to launch.
As I noted previously, Sprint hasn't exactly been one of the go-to U.S. carriers for Windows Phone action, with the Now Network launching just a single Windows Phone device to date. While we're still mostly in the dark about these upcoming Windows Phone 8 handsets, I'm sure that there are many Sprinters out there that are just happy to know that some WP8 hardware is finally coming their way. Once we get more details on exactly which Windows Phone 8 models that Sprint has up its sleeve, you can bet that we'll give you a shout faster than you can say "Dan Hesse loves Vans checkerboard slip-ons."
