Samsung refreshed the Galaxy S III with a handful of new paint jobs earlier this year, and now it looks like it might be planning to give the Galaxy Note II a similar treatment. An image posted by AndroidSlash shows the backside of a Galaxy Note II that's black in color, which is a model that Samsung has yet to make any official mention of. The report doesn't offer up much in the way of possible release information, only dropping a vague "early 2013" mention, meaning that would-be buyers have a pretty big window to mark on their calendars.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II was first introduced in late August, and since then the device has only been offered in its original Marble White and Titanium Gray colors. While this black model is still very much a rumor at this point, Samsung is no stranger to refreshing previous products with new colors months after launch — including a black Galaxy S III — so it's certainly possible that Sammy could have a new color of Note II up its (stretched out) sleeve. Would a black version of the Galaxy Note II get you to reach for your wallet?
UPDATE: Unfortunately, AndroidSlash has determined that this image is a fake. As I noted before, though, Samsung hasn't been afraid to re-release its flagship handsets in new colors, so it's still possible that we could see the Note II sport some different paint jobs in the future.
