Any Android fans that are considering picking up a new smartphone next year may want to clear a spot on their wish list, because a new report claims that HTC is cooking up a smartphone that could have many folks reaching for their wallets. According to @evleaks on Unwired View, HTC is prepping a new device that's codenamed "M7" that will take over the reins as the company's flagship Android smartphone with a 4.7-inch full HD display, which equals out to be 468ppi. This SoLux screen will also reportedly feature improved viewing angles as well as better outdoor visibility and color accuracy compared to HTC's previous Super LCD displays.

Unsurprisingly, the M7 will also reportedly sport a quad-core processor, said to be of the 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon variety. Also rumored to be buried inside the device is 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 4G LTE and 42Mbps HSDPA support and a 2,300mAh battery. Jelly Bean will be the M7's Android dessert of choice (possibly beneath HTC's Sense 5 overlay), and rounding out the package will reportedly be a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 lens and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.

So when will you be able to get your mitts on one? There's no word of launch date quite yet, but it's said that the M7 is slated to hit both Sprint and Verizon in the U.S., and that it may actually have a wider availability that would see it arrive on all four major U.S. operators, a feat that HTC hasn't achieved since the Touch Pro 2. That'd be a pretty big deal for HTC, especially with Samsung releasing its flagship handsets on all four big carriers (and then some), and it could certainly help HTC improve its standing among device manufacturers.

The M7 is rumored to be set for an introduction at Mobile World Congress at the end of February, so we've only got about two more months to wait for the big reveal. How many of you are already have your credit card at the ready?
