That red Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD isn't the only limited edition smartphone that Verizon employees are getting hold of this holiday season. Some photos posted by Droid-Life show a red HTC DROID DNA that is also being given out to Verizon employees, complete with a red rear that wraps around to the handset's sides and the words "Verizon Employee Limited Edition" printed beneath the camera. The front of this special DROID DNA is unchanged from the regular model.
Verizon employees that prefer Windows Phone over Android are also being treated to a limited edition HTC device this year. WPCentral has gotten hold of some photos showing a special version of the HTC Windows Phone 8X that features a gray backside, complete with yellow accents on the rear camera and the earpiece on the front of the device. Like the red DNA, this gray 8X has "Verizon Employee Limited Edition" printed on its backside along with an individual ID number.
As with the red DROID RAZR MAXX HD and the red DROID RAZR MAXX from last year, the red DROID DNA and gray 8X are only being offered to Verizon employees. However, there are some red RAZR MAXXs and even a couple of (fairly expensive) red RAZR MAXX HDs currently available on eBay, so it's possible that some red DROID DNA and gray 8X units will pop up online at some point as well. If you're like me and are obsessed with all things red or are digging the gray-and-yellow combo of the 8X, you may want to start keeping an eye on places like eBay and Craigslist. And considering how much those red MAXX HDs are going for, it would probably be wise to start saving your pennies now too. What do you all think of these limited edition handsets?
