The Nexus 4 quickly sold out after its November 13 debut on the Google Play store, and since then many buyers have been (im)patiently waiting for their new handset to ship out. We already know that several folks got emails from Google saying that their unit had been placed on backorder, but it appears that another round of Nexus 4s is nearly ready to go out. Google just sent us an email to say that our Nexus 4 unit will be shipped to us this week, though the exact date that it'll be going out remains a mystery for now. The meat of the email is as follows:
"Your Nexus 4 order is scheduled to ship this week. We’ll send you a notification, including tracking information, when it’s on the way.
Please note that your order will be charged in full when it ships. As a courtesy and to thank you for your patience, you’ll then receive a credit for the shipping charge within 7 business days.
Thanks again,
The Google Play Team"
That email may not be chock full of information like I'm sure many Nexus 4 buyers have been hoping for, but hey, at least those waiting for their new device know that it'll be sent out sometime this week. As we'd heard previously, Google will also be crediting buyers the cost of shipping to make up for this whole backorder mess. Once our Nexus 4 actually hits Aaron's doorstep, some unboxing goodness is sure to ensue, so keep an eye out for that. How many of you received a similar email regarding the Nexus 4 this evening?
