Hey AT&T customers, how does some more 4G LTE coverage sound? Good? Good, because that's precisely what you've gotten. AT&T has announced that it's flipped the switch on its LTE network in a new market and expanded its existing LTE coverage in a few other towns. The lucky city gaining new service is Gary, Ind. Meanwhile, AT&T customers in the following three markets now have access to expanded LTE coverage:
- Ascension Parish, La.
- Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (including parts of McKinney, Rockwall, Cedar Hill, Desoto, Lancaster, Waxahachie, Midlothian, Red Oak, Terrell, Cleburne, Granbury, Weatherford and others)
- Western Nassau County, N.Y. (coverage now reaches from Queens Village in New York City to Westbury, N.Y.)
According to AT&T's website, the carrier's 4G LTE network is now live in nearly 80 markets. AT&T last month announced a list of more than 40 markets that it intended to bring LTE service to before the end of 2012, and since then it's been steadily crossing towns off of that list, just like it did with today's roll out to Gary, Ind. If you're an AT&T customer with an LTE device in one of these new or expanded markets, go ahead and start devouring that LTE data.
