Sprint's 4G LTE network is currently live in 19 markets, but today the carrier announced that it's begun work on building out its LTE coverage in over 100 additional cities. That list includes quite a few major markets, such as Chicago, New York City and Charlotte, N.C., as well as a number of other areas scattered throughout the country. Sprint says that it'll announce the actual availability of its LTE coverage for these cities in the coming months, but that Sprint customers with LTE-capable equipment may begin to see the service light up early. The carrier says that those subscribers are welcome to hop onto the network before its official launch. The full list of markets where Sprint is building out its LTE network is available below.
While it's not yet clear exactly when these various cities will officially gain access to Sprint's LTE network, at least customers in the areas listed can buy LTE-enabled hardware with the knowledge that they should have access to Sprint's new high-speed wireless coverage soon. Sprint says that it plans to have the nationwide rollout of its new 4G network completed by the end of 2013, so even if you don't see your city listed below, you may still see Sprint's LTE service in your neck of the woods by the end of next year.
