Hungry for some AT&T LTE in your town? If so, we've got some good news for you today, as AT&T has announced that its 4G LTE network is now live in a handful of new markets, with many more coming before the end of 2012. AT&T has flipped its LTE switch in nine new areas across the U.S. today, including Syracuse, N.Y., Anchorage, Ala., and Omaha, Neb. Meanwhile, the carrier has announced several other markets that it says will gain LTE coverage before the end of the year. Included in that list is cities like Memphis, Portland and Pennsylvania. You can find both lists at the bottom of this post.
AT&T continues to introduce new smartphones with 4G LTE support, most recently with the Pantech Flex, so it's good to see the carrier also spread its LTE network to various parts of the country. It's not yet clear when exactly any of the 40 markets due to receive AT&T LTE by the end of 2012 will actually get it, but hey, at least AT&T customers in those markets know that LTE goodness is at most only a few months out. Once we hear more on when these areas will gain LTE coverage, we'll let you know. Are any of you AT&T users located in one of the markets that are getting new LTE service today?
UPDATE: And just as we finished this post, AT&T announced even more markets that are expected to gain LTE coverage before the end of the year. We'll keep updating the lists below with any new areas that are announced.
