Sony introduces Xperia Tablet S along with Xperia T, Xperia V and Xperia J

Sony Xperia Tablet S official

As expected, Sony took to the stage in Berlin today to kick off its IFA 2012 press conference, and the company introduced a handful of new products at the event. First up is the Xperia Tablet S, which we saw leak out a couple of times in the past month. The Xperia Tablet S packs a quad-core Tegra 3 processor buried inside its body, and interested customers will have the option of picking one up with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage. In case that's not enough storage, the Xperia Tablet S also features a full-sized SD card slot. Other specs include a 9.4-inch 1280x800 IPS display, 6,000mAh battery, a splash-proof body, infrared support and Android 4.0.3.

Sony says that the Xperia Tablet S will be available starting September 7 (pre-orders start today) with pricing set at $399 for the 16GB model, $499 for the 32GB version and $599 for the 64GB flavor. The Xperia Tablet S will also be compatible with a number of accessories, including cover/keyboard combo for $99.99, docking stand for $99.99, charging cradle for $39.99 and a dock speaker that'll launch in November for $129.99.

Along with the Xperia Tablet S, Sony took the wraps off of a trio of new Xperia-branded smartphones: the Xperia T, Xperia V and Xperia J. There's quite a few spec details to run through with all three devices, so we're going to present them in an easy-to-digest list:

Sony Xperia T: 4.55-inch 1280x720 Reality Display, 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8260-A processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, front-facing shooter, 1GB RAM, up to 16GB storage, microSD slot, HSPA+ connectivity, 1,850mAh battery and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Will be available in black, silver and white. Sony also notes that the Xperia T will be branded as the Xperia TX in some markets.
Sony Xperia V: 4.3-inch 1280x720 Reality Display, 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8960 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, microSD slot, HSPA+ and LTE support, 1,750mAh battery and Android 4.0. Will be available in black, pink and white.
Sony Xperia J: 4-inch 854x480 display, 1GHz MSM7227A processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front shooter, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, microSD slot, HSPA connectivity, 1,750mAh battery and Android 4.0. Will be available in gold, pink and white.

When it comes to availability, Sony says that the Xperia T will be released first, with a global launch happening over "the next few weeks." The Xperia V and Xperia J will follow with a global launch in Q4 2012. There's no word yet on specific U.S. availability, but as usual, you can bet that we'll bring you more details as we get 'em.
