Holding down third place for a second week in a row, proves that Google Android's OS version, Jelly Bean is a big success! Our fan David Jerchau explains it well by saying the Samsung Galaxy Nexus global "has last years specs, but with Jellybean, it feels like this years superphone." Enjoy his entire user review below.
"With Jellybean, this phone is reborn." By DAVID N JERCHAU on August 15, 2012
After getting my first Nexus, and having to send it back due to a dead pixel, I was a little worried. Once I got my second one all things changed.
Form factor.
I have been turned off by Samsung for years. So it was difficult making this purchase. I opened it up expecting a flimsy plastic phone. And while the phone is plastic, and feels as such, it isn't flimsy. It feels firm in the hand with out wobble or squeaks.
Display
Another turn off of the device was the display. Pentile....enought said. But I had never seen an hd pentile display so I figured I would give it chance. I love the display. Can you tell that it is pentile? Yes. But you have to try and notice it, or be super sensitive about displays. It's vibrant and bright enough for me. I generally have no trouble reading it in direct sunlight.
Camera.
It's okay. It's not as bad as I was expecting. And still better than any camera phone I've had, so I'm fine with it.
Battery life
It's the best I've had. With out LTE on the Verizon version. Generally get around 3 hours of screen on time. Last me a good 18 hours, unless I'm really hammering on it.
OS
Jelly bean. THE reason I got the phone. I can't praise 4 enough. It is fantastic. It takes away all the negatives of Android, which was really only the lagginess. With Jellybean, this phone is reborn, into being the best phone on the market. Yes it has last years specs, but with Jellybean, it feels like this years superphone.
