Tomorrow's the day that Sprint is finally set to activate its 4G LTE network for its customers. Of course, folks in the Kansas City area have been getting an early taste of Sprint LTE for a day or two, and now it sounds like subscribers in other markets are joining in on the LTE fun. A report from The Verge claims that Sprint LTE is up and running in portions of all five of the initial markets, which are Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City and San Antonio. That's according to Sprint stores in the five areas. So far users are said to be seeing speeds of around 10Mbps down and 2Mbps up, though obviously your speeds may vary slightly from test to test.
While Sprint's official LTE launch date isn't until July 15, it's not too surprising to hear that some customers are able to hop on a tad early. Sprint's employees are likely going through a few last-minute tests to make sure everything's running properly for tomorrow's big debut, and allowing users in select areas could be a part of those preparations. Of course, I'm sure that Sprint subscribers in these five areas are just happy to be on the 4G LTE network, regardless of the reason.
