Hot on the heels of the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy Note on some T-Mobile store signage, a new rumor is claiming that the Galaxy Note's successor isn't far off. According to a source speaking to MK Business News, Samsung is planning to introduce the Galaxy Note II at IFA in Berlin, which kicks off in late August. A launch is said to be scheduled for October. As far as specs for this new Note go, the device's display is reportedly getting a bump up to 5.5 inches, but the actual size of the handset is said to be similar to the current Galaxy Note and its 5.3-inch screen. Other alleged specs include a quad-core processor, 12 or 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.1. MK Business News adds that the Note II will not feature unbreakable plane display tech that previous rumors have claimed it would.
While the Galaxy Note has gotten its fair share of criticism for being too big for some, Samsung recently revealed that it's sold seven million units of the device since its debut, so there's obviously some interest in the large device. It'll be interesting to see how consumers react to the Galaxy Note II since its footprint is reportedly around the same as the original Note, even though the Note II's display is said to be slightly larger.
