Last month a rumor claimed that HTC and Sprint are prepping a white version of the EVO 4G LTE, and shortly after the report went up, one of our eagle-eyed readers spotted what appeared to be that very device in a banner on Sprint's website. Now we may have a date on which some folks might begin spotting a white EVO 4G LTE in their pockets. A document leaked to TechnoBuffalo lists new Sprint device offers that'll be kicking off on Sunday, July 15, and smack dab on the top of the list is a listing for an "HTC EVO 4G LTE in white" with a "NEW" tag next to it. The image lists the white EVO 4G LTE as having a suggested retail price of $549.99. After an assortment of discounts, the device will reportedly be priced at $199.99 with a two-year contract, which is the same price that the currently-available black EVO 4G LTE is going for.
The leaked doc also shows that Sprint is planning a buy one, get one promotion for the Samsung Epic 4G Touch. The first device is listed as being priced at $99.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate, while the second features a big, red "FREE" as its net price. The promotion is reportedly set to run from July 15 through August 18.
HTC and Samsung have come together to release white EVO models a couple of times in the past, so it's no surprise that the two companies are coming together to give the EVO 4G LTE a white paint job as well. While the image of the device in the image above is somewhat small, it still looks like a pretty nice device, and folks in the market for a new white smartphone on Sprint are going to have a tough choice between the EVO 4G LTE and the Galaxy S III. Sounds like a nice problem to have, though. Any of you thinking about picking up the white EVO 4G LTE if it does indeed arrive later this month?
