There have already been a few U.S. carriers that've come out and confirmed that they plan to offer Windows Phone 8 products after the new platform launches in the fall, and now we can add another operator to the list. Today U.S. Cellular voiced its support for the next version of Windows Phone, telling PCMag that it's "excited" about Windows Phone 8 and that the OS "will be an important part" of its product lineup. No device or release details were mentioned by the carrier.
Like Sprint and Verizon, U.S. Cellular has only offered one Windows Phone device to date, with USCC's handset being the HTC 7 Pro (which is actually the same as Sprint's HTC Arrive). While we'll have to wait to find out which products U.S. Cellular plans to offer, it's good to see another carrier backing Windows Phone 8, especially since its another one that hasn't exactly been known for its selection of Windows Phones in the past. Now we wait and see which operator will be next to announce its support for the next version of Microsoft's mobile OS. Is your carrier one of the four that's already done so?
