Sprint was originally set to launch its Samsung Galaxy S III on June 21, but the carrier was forced to push back that release "due to overwhelming demand." And while customers that pre-ordered the device have already begun receiving their units, Sprint has remained silent on when customers will be able to simply walk into a store and buy a Galaxy S III. That changes today, as Sprint has announced that its Galaxy S III will be available starting July 1. The Galaxy S III will be sold in Sprint stores, online and over the phone, though it's worth noting that the 32GB model won't be available in stores, so customers interested in the more capacious model will need to do their buying online or through Telesales. Pricing for the Sprint Galaxy S III is set at $199.99 for the 16GB model and $249.99 for the 32GB version, both of which come with a two-year contract.

While it's a bummer that Sprint's Galaxy S III didn't launch on June 21 as was planned, at least customers interested in the device will only end up waiting around a week and a half for the device's retail debut. That's a shorter wait than EVO 4G LTE folk had to endure for their handset when its release was delayed due to a U.S. Customs review. And with Sprint's LTE network going live in its first five LTE markets on July 15, Galaxy S III owners in those areas will be able to access the LTE service on day one.
