ASUS has been talking up the Padfone for a little over a year now, and now the phone-tablet docking device is finally available for purchase for those of us in the U.S. thanks to online retailers. The 16GB Padfone is now listed as being in stock at Negri Electronics, carrying a price tag of $859.50, while the 32GB and 64GB models are available for pre-order for $959.50 and $1,059.50, respectively. Expansys-USA also has the Padfone available for pre-order.
For those of you that may need a Padfone refresher, the Android 4.0-powered handset features a 4.3-inch 540x960 touchscreen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear and VGA front cameras and a 1,520mAh battery. Also included is the tablet docking station, which features a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display, 1.3-megapixel front camera and 6,600mAh battery. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this international Padfone is compatible with any of the major U.S. carriers' 3G networks, so those of you that want higher-speed data may want to wait and hope for an operator to pick up the Padfone. What do you all think of ASUS's Padfone? Any of you think you'd be interested in picking one up if it makes its way stateside?
