Apple and HTC have traded their fair share of legal blows over the past couple of years, but now it looks like the two companies will soon have to put their weapons down for a bit and try to talk things out. The U.S. Court for the District of Delaware has ordered both companies to meet on August 28th to discuss the possibility of reaching a settlement in the battle between the them. The lawyers for both Apple and HTC will participate in the talks, as will decision-making company representatives. Magistrate Judge Sherry R. Fallon will moderate the talks.
The legal tiff between Apple and HTC has come back into the spotlight this past week, as shipments of the HTC One X and EVO 4G LTE are being held by U.S. Customs for review due to an ITC exclusion order won by Apple back in December. As with the Apple and Samsung settlement talks that are scheduled for next week, there's no guarantee that anything will come of this meeting between Apple and HTC, but it's good to hear that the two firms will at least be getting together to try and smooth out the situation. Here's to hoping that Apple and HTC are able to work out their differences and end the get-together by holding hands and singing "Kumbaya" around a campfire.
