Good news for AT&T customers in Salt Lake City, as today the carrier announced that it plans to roll out its 4G LTE service to the SLC this year. AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson revealed the news today during a company meeting of stockholders. However, there was no mention of exactly when the LTE switch will be flipped in Salt Lake City. AT&T also recently announced that it's expanded its LTE network in Austin, Texas, bringing coverage to areas like San Marcos and Kyle and creating a continuous line of service along the IH-35 corridor from San Antonio to Austin.
While it's kind of a bummer for residents of Salt Lake City that it's not yet clear exactly when they'll be receiving AT&T LTE coverage, at least they now know that it's coming some time later this year. We'll let you know when we hear more on the exact launch date for AT&T LTE in SLC, but until then you can find the announcements for both of today's pieces of news at the links below.
