Been thinking about picking up a Samsung Galaxy Nexus? If so, you might want to check out the new Devices section of the Google Play store, where the unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus is now available for purchase direct from Google. The handset is priced at $399 and comes without any kind of contract. It's also worth noting that the unlocked Galaxy Nexus features support for 3G connectivity on both AT&T and T-Mobile here in the U.S. Two-day shipping is used for all orders. Andy Rubin also mentions in his blog post for the announcement that the Google Play store is home to over 500,000 apps.
Although this news may not be terribly exciting for folks that already have an unlocked Galaxy Nexus (and may have paid quite a bit more for it), this deal from Google is pretty good for anyone that's even considered picking up the latest member of the Nexus family. Of course, it's worth mentioning that this isn't the first time that Google has offered a Nexus device direct to consumers: it also sold the Nexus One online for a while before eventually deciding to shut the shop down. It's interesting to see Google giving it another go, though, and with a $399 Galaxy Nexus in its store, I bet Google will see a fair share of customers willing to give the new Devices section on Google Play a go. Any of you thinking about picking up a Galaxy Nexus from Google?
