Wanting to include top smartphones from all the carriers, we added 8 new devices to the Official Smartphone Rankings from Virgin Mobile, US Cellular, MetroPCS, and Boost Mobile. Today we feature PhoneDog fan, hipsterstalkin, who left a Motorola Triumph user review on 3/30/12. Enjoy the details below.
A great phone when you consider the price. By hipsterstalkin, posted: Mar 30
The Motorola Triumph on Virgin Mobile is the first step in the right direction for prepaid carriers everywhere. It has a 1 gigahertz single core processor (of the same make as the Thunderbolt's); 512 megabytes of RAM, 2 gigabytes of internal storage; a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, HD 720p video, and a front facing VGA camera. It has a 4.1 in 800 by 480 pixel display that is extremely good looking. Colors are rich and vibrant, and pictures suffer from very little pixillation, and the max/min brightness settings are perfect. It's a relatively thin device with a nice solid feel to it. You can't really complain too much about the small issues of the device when you consider the price. You pay $240 for the contract free phone (Amazon) and then a minimum of $35 a month for unlimited data and text with 300 minutes. The only gripes I have with it are the Android 2.2 OS and the rather unsatisfactory battery life. (These issues can be remedied by installing a custom ROM if you so wish.) Overall I've been very satisfied with this phone, and I would recommend it to anyone.
