Earlier this week Nokia confirmed that the some early Lumia 900 adopters were having issues with data connectivity, adding that the had found the solution and that a fix would be out on or around April 16th. It looks like Lumia 900 owners won't have to wait through the weekend to get their fix on, though, as Nokia has announced that the update is now available, three days ahead of schedule. Lumia 900 users should plug their device into the Zune software on Windows or the Windows Phone 7 Connector on Mac to apply the update. However, if you'd rather switch your Lumia 900 out for a fresh unit, you'll still be able to do so, and Nokia will still be adding a $100 credit to the AT&T bill of anyone that buys a Lumia 900 through April 21st.
As I mentioned when Nokia originally acknowledged the bug's existence, it's a bummer that such a problem hit the Lumia 900 and its users right after launch, especially considering that it could disable connectivity on affected units. That Nokia was able to respond quickly and get a fix out ahead of schedule is good to see, though, and shows that their commitment to both the 900 and its owners.
