The Nokia Lumia 900 finally made its official retail debut this past Sunday, and although Nokia recently revealed the number of Lumias it sold in the first quarter of 2012, we've yet to hear any information on how well the Lumia 900 has been selling. However, an AT&T exec recently shed a little light on the situation while speaking to the Wall Street Journal. Paul Roth, the carrier's president of retail sales and service, told the WSJ that sales of the device have exceeded expectations, although it's not clear exactly what those expectations were. Roth did add, though, that several AT&T stores sold out of their 900 stock, with the cyan model being particularly popular. He also revealed that Nokia has given AT&T Lumia 900s for its employees at a level that he's "never seen a manufacturer ever do."
It's not clear if we'll ever get an idea of exactly what AT&T's expectations for Lumia 900 sales were or how many units of the device it sold, but considering how strongly AT&T has been backing the device, I'm sure that it's glad that the 900 has surpassed whatever expectations it had. Nokia has also confirmed that it's got a fix for the Lumia 900's data connectivity issue and that anyone that buys the device through April 21st will get a $100 AT&T bill credit that'll effectively make the $99.99 Lumia 900 free on contract, a move that could help convince some folks on the fence to pull the trigger.
